Her Story
Shannon's Story
My name is Shannon Vigil and I live in Denver, Colorado. I have owned Rottweilers since I was 11 years old — they have been a part of my life for as long as I can remember. I began showing in 2004 when my dear friend Brenda Haskin of Skywind Rottweilers took me under her wing and helped me get started in the sport.
I decided to start breeding after a deeply disappointing experience with a breeder early in my journey. I was sold a show dog under a bad contract with no guidance, no support, and no follow-through. That experience shaped everything about how I run TCB Rotts today.
I am an active presence in every puppy's life — from the moment I decide to breed, through placement, and all the way to the rainbow bridge. I only sell to people who meet my standards as pet owners, and I stand behind every dog I produce.
Our Breeding Philosophy
At TCB Rotts, we breed selectively and purposefully. We never breed for quantity — only when Shannon is looking for her next show dog or when the pairing is exceptional enough to justify bringing a litter into the world. Every breeding decision is made with health, temperament, and breed type at the forefront.
Health First
We health-test every breeding dog before any pairing. No exceptions.
True Temperament
Our Rottweilers are confident, stable, and correct in character — the way the breed was meant to be.
Breed Standard
We breed to the AKC Rottweiler standard, producing dogs that can compete and win at the highest levels.
Lifetime Support
We are a resource for every puppy owner for the life of the dog — not just until the check clears.
Health Testing Standards
Every breeding dog at TCB Rotts is evaluated through OFA (Orthopedic Foundation for Animals) before being bred. We do not cut corners on health testing — it is the foundation of responsible breeding.
OFA Hips
Radiographic evaluation for hip dysplasia. We only breed dogs with OFA Good or Excellent ratings.
OFA Elbows
Elbow evaluation to screen for elbow dysplasia, a common concern in large breeds.
OFA Cardiac
Cardiac evaluation by a board-certified cardiologist to screen for inherited heart conditions.
OFA Eyes (CAER)
Annual eye examination by a board-certified ophthalmologist to screen for hereditary eye disease.
